There are a number of events coming up at the Patel Conservatory at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (1010 N W C MacInnes pl, Tampa, FL 33602, 813-222-6415).
On March 28, they’ll have a FREE Summer Sign Up Splash event, featuring live music along the river, moonwalk for children, free chocolate, a peak at samples of their summer camps, representatives from different organizations offering discounts on summer camps and lots of activities for children and families. Anyone who signs up for a Patel Conservatory summer camp on this day or before will receive 10 percent off.
Activities such as games, prizes, a bounce house and face painting will entertain children at this outdoor event, while parents can check out information about summer camps from organizations all over Tampa, including the Patel Conservatory. Families also can observe samples of summer camps and enjoy live music performed on the Riverwalk by nine bands consisting of children and adult students from the Patel Conservatory Rock School program.
Attendees can enter to win a free week of summer camp at the Patel Conservatory, or a huge chocolate bar in celebration of the performance Willy Wonka Junior. The show will be performed by the Patel Conservatory Youth Theater Company Aug. 7-8 as a culmination of its summer camp.
March 28 is also the last day of the Conservatory’s Early Bird Tuition Discount: those who register for any of the 70 Conservatory summer courses and camps save 10 percent on tuition. The first 100 people to register will also receive a free chocolate bar.
In addition to representatives from the Patel Conservatory, representatives from several of the area’s other best summer camps will be in attendance to speak with attendees and to offer discounts on summer camp tuition.
Patel Conservatory camps begin June 8 and run through the week of Aug. 21 and last from one to three weeks. The ten-week courses run the week of June 1 through the week of Aug. 9.
The Patel Conservatory, at 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Pl., also offers courses for adults in dance, music, theater and media arts. A special conductor’s symposium for adults will be held June 29 through July 2.
