Welcome to my second favorite holiday! There’s a lot going on throughout Tampa today in celebration of Cinco De Mayo. Here’s my personal roadmap of fun and adventure:
Breakfast – Taco Bus (913 E. Hillsborough Ave, Tampa FL 33604). I just got back from having a chorizo burrito with beans and rice. The perfect start to a Cinco De Mayo celebration.
Noon – Headed to Los Tucanes (1235 E. Hillsborough Ave, 33604) for a margarita, some Dos Equis XX and some traditional mexican food.
5PM – Happy Hour at Ybor City’s own Cinco De Mayo Mexican Restaurant (1919 E 7th Ave, Tampa FL 33605). Live mariachi band, dancers and more.
11PM – Driving out to the middle of nowhere with a CD of traditional mexican folk dance, my .38 revolver and a sombrero for the Jarabe tapatÃo (Mexican Hat Dance) and firing wildly into the air.
Talk about a fun cinco de mayo!
