Cambridge Christian School’s (CCS) choral department will be performing Annie Get Your Gun in this year’s spring musical. Show times are Friday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and Saturday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the CCS gymnasium, 6101 N. Habana Ave Tampa, FL 33614.
More than 30 students ranging from ninth through twelfth grade have spent eight weeks practicing and preparing for the spring musical, under the direction of Matt Stenberg, Choral Director.
Annie Get Your Gun is a musical with lyrics and music written by Irving Berlin and book written by Herbert Fields and Dorothy Fields. The story is a fictionalized version of the life of Annie Oakley, who was a sharpshooter from Ohio, and her husband, Frank Butler. Songs such as “There’s No Business Like Show Business” and “Anything You Can Do” became hits after the 1946 Broadway production.
Tickets for the performance are $12 for general admission and Friday’s matinee (includes boxed lunch); and $15 for reserved floor seating for both 7:00 p.m. shows. Guests can purchase tickets at the door, or by calling 813-872-6744 ext. 275. Parking is free. All proceeds are used to offset production costs for this program and in the future.
