Technical Details

Many people ask me how MyTampaLife is run, and what software is used. I’ll gladly give credit where credit is due.

Platform: Wordpress 2.8.x
This standard setup for Wordpress is powered by LAMP.

Webhost: 2mhost.com
I have to admit that I was a little worried about a web host that only charged $35/year and included LAMP access. That said, 2mhost has really pulled through. They’ve had very little downtime, the site stays reasonably fast and I’m very happy with what I’ve experienced so far.

Template: Agent by Studiopress.
This is an amazing template. The author, Bryan Hauer, has built a powerful template that is magazine style while catering specifically to the real estate market. I ended up removing a lot of the extras and making some color and style changes, but at the heart it’s Bryan’s excellent template. He has about a dozen templates for sale on his site and every one of them is good to great.
